The fleas present on the dog are killed within the day following treatment. A single treatment prevents flea re-infestation for 4 weeks. The veterinary medicinal product can be integrated into a treatment programme for Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD).
The product has acaricidal efficacy against tick infestations, persisting for 4 weeks against Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes ricinus, and for three weeks against Dermacentor reticulatus, and repellent efficacy, persisting for 3 weeks against Ixodes ricinus.
Ticks already present on the dog at the time of treatment may not be killed during the two days following administration of the treatment and may remain attached and visible. It is therefore recommended to remove any ticks present at the time of treatment application, in order to prevent their attachment and blood feeding.
A single treatment provides repellent activity (anti-feeding) against the sandfly Phlebotomus perniciosus for three weeks and against the mosquito Aedes aegypti from 7 days up to 14 days after treatment.
A common question, as many flea treatments exist. There are almost as many anti-flea products as there are forms: collar, spray, tablets, pipettes (spot-on) or even shampoo. The only thing Produits-veto can commit to is that a flea treatment is not universal, it depends on the level of infestation, the animal, its breed, its allergies (a collar, for example, can trigger redness). It is not an exact science, so you should consult your veterinarian for the first applications and consult them again for any adverse effects. At the top of a tree, perhaps? All joking aside, you can tell visually if your pet is contaminated if you find small black droppings on the head and neck. As with your child, a comb can also help with the task.
