FRONTLINE TRI-ACT is a spot-on solution for dogs, presented as pipettes for cutaneous application on small dogs weighing between 2 and 5 kg. FRONTLINE TRI-ACT combines fipronil and permethrin to treat and prevent infestations by fleas and ticks. FRONTLINE TRI-ACT also has a repellent action against sandflies (which cause leishmaniasis), mosquitoes and biting flies.
Characteristics of Frontline Tri-Act flea pipettes for dogs
- 1 pipette of FRONTLINE TRI-ACT Chiens de 0,5 ml for cutaneous application on dogs weighing between 2 kg and 5 kg from 8 weeks,
- Conditions caused by parasites sensitive to fipronil,
- Treatment and prevention of infestations by fleas and/or ticks when a repellent activity (anti-feeding) is required against sandflies, biting flies and/or mosquitoes.
- Treatment and prevention of infestations by fleas Ctenocephalides felis and prevention of infestations by fleas Ctenocephalides canis. The veterinary medicinal product kills C. felis fleas already present within 24 hours. A single treatment prevents new flea infestations for 4 weeks.
- The veterinary medicinal product can be used as part of a treatment strategy for the control of flea allergy dermatitis, when this has been previously diagnosed by a veterinarian.
- Repellent efficacy against ticks (Dermacentor reticulatus) from 7 days and up to 4 weeks after treatment. However, isolated ticks may attach and detach within the first 24 hours after infestation. The veterinary medicinal product has an immediate acaricidal efficacy against Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes ricinus, but if ticks are present when the veterinary medicinal product is applied, they may not all be killed within 48 hours of treatment.
- The veterinary medicinal product can be integrated into a therapeutic programme for Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD), after diagnosis by a veterinarian.
- Persistent acaricidal efficacy against ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus) for 4 weeks.
- Repellent efficacy (anti-feeding) for 3 weeks against sandflies (Phlebotomus perniciosus) and for 4 weeks against mosquitoes (Culex pipiens).
- The veterinary medicinal product has a persistent insecticidal efficacy for 3 weeks against sandflies (Phlebotomus perniciosus).
- The veterinary medicinal product repels and kills the stable flies (Stomoxys calcitrans) for 5 weeks.
What is the best flea treatment?
A common question, as many flea treatments exist. There are almost as many anti-flea products as there are forms: collar, spray, tablets, pipettes (spot-on) or even shampoo. The only thing Produits-veto can guarantee is that a flea treatment is not universal, as it depends on the level of infestation, the animal, its breed, and its allergies (a collar, for example, may trigger redness). How can fleas be radically eliminated?
If only we had a magic wand. If your dog has fleas, this means that its environment has some too. That is why we recommend:
- Prevent flea infestation: A preventive treatment on your pet helps prevent rather than cure.
- In case of infestation, treat the environment: Using manual or automatic diffusers in your home.
- Clean your home: Vacuum your floors, carpets, curtains, sofas and armchairs, then wash your cushions and bed linens.
How do you find a flea nest?
At the top of a tree, perhaps? All joking aside, you can tell visually if your pet is infested if you find small black droppings on its head and neck. As with your child, a comb can also help with the task.
