Prevention and treatment of infestations by fleas (Ctenocephalides felis).

Fleas present on the dog are killed within the day following treatment. A single treatment prevents re-infestations by fleas for 4 weeks. The veterinary medicinal product may be used as part of a treatment strategy for Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD) when this has been previously diagnosed by a veterinarian.

The product has an acaricidal efficacy against ticks persisting for 4 weeks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes ricinus) and 3 weeks (Dermacentor reticulatus) and a repellent efficacy against Ixodes ricinus persisting for 3 weeks.

Ticks already present on the dog at the time of treatment may not be killed during the two days following administration of the treatment and may remain attached and visible. It is therefore recommended to remove ticks present at the time of treatment application, in order to prevent them from attaching and taking a blood meal.

A single treatment provides repellent activity (anti-feeding) against the sandfly Phlebotomus perniciosus for three weeks and against the mosquito Aedes aegypti from 7 days up to 14 days after treatment.

Reduction of the risk of infection with Leishmania infantum transmitted by sandflies (Phlebotomus perniciosus) for up to 3 weeks. The effect is indirect due to the product's activity on the vector.
