Prevention and treatment of infestations by fleas (Ctenocephalides felis).

Fleas present on the dog are killed within the day following treatment. A single treatment prevents re-infestations by fleas for 4 weeks. The veterinary medicinal product can be used as part of a treatment strategy for the management of Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD) when this has been previously diagnosed by a veterinarian.

The product has an acaricidal efficacy against ticks lasting 4 weeks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes ricinus) and 3 weeks (Dermacentor reticulatus) and a repellent efficacy against Ixodes ricinus lasting 3 weeks.

Ticks already present on the dog at the time of treatment may not be killed during the two days following administration of the treatment and may remain attached and visible. Therefore it is recommended to remove ticks present at the time of application of the treatment, in order to prevent their attachment and blood-feeding.

A single treatment provides a repellent activity (anti-feeding) against the sandfly Phlebotomus perniciosus for three weeks and against the mosquito Aedes aegypti from 7 days up to 14 days after treatment.

Reduction of the risk of infection with Leishmania infantum transmitted by sandflies (Phlebotomus perniciosus) for up to 3 weeks. The effect is indirect due to the activity of the product on the vector.
