Seresikan Clément Thékan 1.25 g/0.56 g is an antiparasitic collar for dogs weighing up to 8 kg. Its formula combines two active substances, imidacloprid and flumethrin.
It is used in dogs infested or exposed to a risk of mixed infestations by fleas, ticks, lice and phlebotomine sandflies. According to its authorisation, this veterinary medicine is only indicated when several of the parasites concerned are simultaneously present.
The collar measures 38 cm and progressively releases its active substances onto the dog's skin and coat. Its insecticidal activity against fleas lasts 7 to 8 months. It also helps protect the dog's immediate environment against the development of flea larvae for 8 months.
Seresikan acts on several external parasites of the dog:
Prevention of new infestations by certain ticks starts within two days of fitting the collar and can be maintained for up to 8 months. The product has an acaricidal action and, for certain tick species, a repellent (anti-feeding) effect.
Through this action against vectors, Seresikan also helps reduce the risk of transmission of certain agents responsible for babesiosis, ehrlichiosis and leishmaniosis. This protection remains indirect and does not fully rule out the transmission of these diseases.
Each Seresikan collar of 38 cm, weighing 12.5 g, contains:
Imidacloprid acts in particular against adult fleas and their larvae as well as against lice. Flumethrin has, in particular, an acaricidal activity against ticks. Both substances are released slowly from the collar and are progressively distributed over the coat and skin surface.
Seresikan is for cutaneous use only, external use. Use one collar per dog.
The dog must wear the collar continuously throughout the protection period, i.e. up to 8 months. Check its fit regularly, particularly in young growing dogs.
Do not use Seresikan on a puppy under 7 weeks old or on an animal with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
Ticks already attached before fitting may remain visible after the collar is put in place. It is therefore recommended to remove any ticks present at the time of treatment. A new tick attaching itself remains possible despite treatment.
The collar is water-resistant and retains its effectiveness if the dog is occasionally wetted. However, frequent shampooing or prolonged and intense exposure to water may reduce its duration of action. Dogs wearing the collar should not be allowed to swim in watercourses, due to the toxicity of the active substances to aquatic organisms.
After fitting, wash your hands with cold water. Also prevent young children from handling the collar or putting it in their mouths. Animals wearing the collar should not sleep in the same bed as their owners, particularly children.
Use during pregnancy or lactation is not recommended. If you have any doubts about your animal's situation or about choosing an antiparasitic treatment, ask your veterinarian or pharmacist for advice.
Seresikan dog 1.25 g/0.56 g combines two antiparasitic substances in a 38 cm collar suited to dogs weighing up to 8 kg. Its main advantage lies in its long duration of action, which can reach 8 months depending on the parasite targeted.
To maintain optimal protection, regularly check that the collar is correctly positioned. In case of a significant flea infestation, remember to also treat the dog's environment. Baskets, rugs, sofas and other resting places can indeed harbour eggs and larvae.
Insecticidal activity against fleas lasts 7 to 8 months. Prevention of reinfestation by certain ticks can last up to 8 months. The collar must remain in place continuously throughout the protection period.
Seresikan must not be used on puppies under 7 weeks old.
Yes. The collar remains effective when the dog is occasionally wetted. However, frequent shampooing or long, repeated exposure to water may reduce the duration of its activity.
This version includes a 38 cm collar for dogs weighing 8 kg or less. Another presentation, 70 cm long with a different dosage, is available for dogs over 8 kg.
