Household insecticide against parasites and household insects

Presentation of Tiquanis Habitat VETOQUINOL

Tiquanis Habitat is a household insecticide in the form of an automatic single-dose diffuser. This TP18 biocide eliminates numerous parasites and insects present in enclosed indoor spaces. Its action targets in particular fleas, bed bugs, ticks, mites and red poultry mites.

Are you looking for a solution to fully treat an infested room? The diffuser automatically releases its contents and distributes the insecticide throughout the enclosed volume.

Tiquanis Habitat also acts against several crawling insects. VETOQUINOL lists cockroaches, cockroaches, ants and spiders.

Its spectrum also includes various flying insects. The product targets flies, wasps, mosquitoes, tiger mosquitoes and clothes moths.

The diffuser acts on fleas and bed bugs at different stages of development. It targets eggs, larvae and adults.

Automatic diffusion lasts about two minutes. A 100 ml aerosol can treat a room of 60 m³. This capacity corresponds to approximately 24 m² with a ceiling height of 2.5 metres.

Tiquanis Habitat is suitable for living rooms, bedrooms, attics and offices. It must only be used in an enclosed and empty space.

Composition and action of the Tiquanis household insecticide

The current official formula of Tiquanis Habitat contains two active substances:

  • 1R-trans phenothrin, CAS 26046-85-5: 0.056 %
  • Extract of open and mature flowers of Tanacetum cinerariifolium, CAS 89997-63-7: 0.103 %
  • AE, aerosol generator

This composition corresponds to the new 100 ml presentation marketed by VETOQUINOL. It differs from the older formulas still described on several merchant sites.

Action of 1R-trans phenothrin

1R-trans phenothrin is one of the two insecticidal substances in the formula. It contributes to the immediate efficacy claimed by VETOQUINOL.

This substance acts within the treated environment. Tiquanis Habitat must therefore never be sprayed directly onto a dog, a cat or another animal.

Phenothrin can cause severe adverse effects in cats. All cats must leave the room before treatment.

Surfaces must then be properly ventilated and cleaned before the animals return. Animals must never access the room during diffusion or the contact time.

Extract of Tanacetum cinerariifolium

The second active substance comes from the open and mature flowers of Tanacetum cinerariifolium. The extract is obtained using supercritical carbon dioxide.

This substance complements the insecticidal action of phenothrin. It contributes to the broad spectrum claimed against household parasites and insects.

The extract may cause an allergic reaction. Direct contact with skin and eyes must be avoided.

Action on several categories of pests

Tiquanis Habitat has a broader spectrum than a simple anti-flea diffuser. VETOQUINOL distinguishes three categories of targeted pests.

The product acts against the following parasites:

  • fleas;
  • bed bugs;
  • dust mites;
  • sarcoptes responsible for mange;
  • ticks;
  • red poultry mites.

It also targets several crawling insects:

  • cockroaches;
  • cockroaches;
  • ants;
  • spiders.

Finally, it acts against various flying insects:

  • flies;
  • wasps;
  • mosquitoes;
  • tiger mosquitoes;
  • clothes moths.

This extended action makes it possible to treat a room presenting several categories of pests. The diffuser must not, however, be used as a systematic preventive measure or for a use other than that indicated.

Difference between the diffuser and the Tiquanis Habitat sprays

The automatic diffuser is suitable for the overall treatment of an enclosed room. It releases its entire contents in a single activation.

The Tiquanis Habitat Insectes rampants spray meets a different need. It allows targeting of surfaces, insect passageways or certain textiles.

The Tiquanis Habitat Insectes volants spray is used against flies, mosquitoes and other flying insects. These presentations do not have the same conditions of use.

The 100 ml diffuser must therefore not be confused with the older 110 or 210 ml diffusers. Nor should their composition or treatment area be attributed to it.

If in doubt, ask your veterinarian or a health professional for advice.

Advantages of Tiquanis Habitat for treating the home

  • Broad insecticidal spectrum: the diffuser acts against parasites, crawling insects and flying insects.
  • Action on several stages: it targets the eggs, larvae and adults of fleas and bed bugs.
  • Immediate efficacy: VETOQUINOL claims an immediate insecticidal action.
  • Overall treatment: the diffuser automatically distributes the product throughout an enclosed room.
  • Clearly defined coverage: one aerosol treats up to 60 m³, or approximately 24 m².
  • Automatic diffusion: the bottle empties in about two minutes.
  • Identified current formula: it combines phenothrin and an extract of Tanacetum cinerariifolium.
  • Anti-flea action: the product targets fleas present in the environment at all announced stages.
  • Action against bed bugs: it acts on eggs, larvae and adults.
  • Action against mosquitoes: the spectrum includes classic mosquitoes and tiger mosquitoes.
  • Non-staining formula: VETOQUINOL states that the product does not stain.
  • TP18 biocide: this classification corresponds to insecticides, acaricides and products against other arthropods.

Treating the home does not replace the antiparasitic treatment of animals. When a dog or cat has fleas, a product suitable for its species must be used at the same time.

The environment must also be maintained regularly. Vacuuming floors, carpets, textiles and resting areas complements infestation management.

Tiquanis Habitat: the key points of this household insecticide

Tiquanis Habitat is a household insecticide intended for the overall treatment of enclosed rooms. Its 100 ml automatic diffuser covers up to 24 m².

It acts against fleas, bed bugs, ticks, mites and red poultry mites. Its spectrum also includes various crawling and flying insects.

The current formula combines 0.056 % of 1R-trans phenothrin and 0.103 % of Tanacetum cinerariifolium extract. It does not correspond to the older permethrin-based compositions still displayed on certain sites.

The product must never be used on an animal or in its presence. Particular caution is required with cats due to the potential toxicity of phenothrin.
